BATHROOM RENOVATION
There was no storage space for towels, etc. I made space for the floor-to-ceiling cabinet from a vent pipe chase, thereby expanding storage space in the area that was available to me.
This bathroom was in need of some serious repair.
These are the before pictures.
Nice window sill.
This is the end result of some major renovation.
All Cabinets were custom handcrafted from solid Maple with a Dark Mahogany Stain. Finger pulls were routed in rather than using cabinet hardware.
All Floor and Wall Tiling was by my own hands.
The new bathroom!
A fellow General Contractor stated that he has never seen craftsmanship like this, in this day and age, and a job of this nature would run about $10,000.00.
The following pictures depict the entire process that was required to be delt with in order to bring the Bathroom to the completed stage.
When I removed the sheetrock and the wall, this is what I found.
Due to the lack of storage space, I decided to move the cast iron pipe from the center of the room so that it would run up against/in the wall.
The following pictures is what I would be dealing with to make that happen.
I removed the rest of the sheetrock from the other wall only to find plaster in extremely bad condition. Therefore in order to hang new sheetrock, I removed the plaster.
When I removed the ceiling and sheetrock from another wall, I found the wiring to be a mess.
I called my Electrician.
He came there two days later and rewired the bathroom.
This is the results of the Elecrtician's work.
He changed the vent to one of better quality, added a recessed light over the shower/tub, added and moved some switches and outlets.
Demolition of the bath/shower area.
Removed the molding around the window and flushed out the window sill so it can accommodate the sheetrock.
I removed the water feed system to the tub/shower area and demolished the cast iron tub with a sledge hammer.
I called in my Plumber to remove the 4" castiron vent pipe from the main drain to the vent on the roof and reroute it against the wall so I could build a floor - to - ceiling cabinet. He also upgraded the drainage system in the bathroom. This house had no storage space.
I also replaced the shower/tub water feed system.
I started building the floor - to - ceiling cabinet and vanity.
I then tiled the floor.
At this point the walls and ceiling were painted.
The tub surround was tiled.
The cabinet doors and drawers were built.
The cabinet, vanity, doors and drawer fronts were all stained and installed.
In short, the finishing touches were applied.
The job was completed.
